Tsunami & Christmas

Well, everyone by now should know what happened in South Asia - an earthquake just west of Sumatera coast followed by a tsunami or tidal wave that hit Sri Lanka, India, Maldives, Indonesia... and Phuket where my parents were and Malaysia, a little.

Well, I really wanna thank God for His perfect timing. Come to think of it, my dad could have been stuck in Phuket had he not come back less than 24 hours before the disaster.

God is always good. In my studies, he has been so good. Just after my Summative 2, my sis came to stay a night with me in KL and accompanied me to KLIA to pick my dad.

Christmas is just over. For the first time, I kinda lost the 'Christmas' feeling. Must have been the preparation for my exam. But at least I can say that this year's celebration was definitely different for me.

I joined my Care Group for carrolling and we went to a few houses to sing. But the leader wanted to touch the lives there more than just through the singing. She wanted us to proclaim the good news on a personal note. So what we did?

Well, we went 'undercover' saying we are conducting a survey on how much people know about Christmas. We asked a few questions:
1. What is Christmas to you? A religious celebration, a new year, Santa Claus?
2. Have you been to a Christmas celebration? Who invited you?
3. If you had a wish for Christmas, what would you ask for?
4. If you do not know the true meaning of Christmas, would you want me to share it with you?

I took the opportunity to share with them the gospel. What better time of the year to go out and proclaim the truth? We did felt awkward speaking to people we didn't know, but so what? Its Christmas! We didn't win anyone over that night, but at least we planted seeds. Leave the rest to God!
