Of faith & faithfulness
Let me introduce 3 Christian Thais very close to heart in Phuket...
NOINA, 24
Connected to us as she was a staff in the same office as my dad. Though she later left under stressful circumstances, my parents kept in touch with her as she was very open to the gospel of Christ.
2 Decembers ago, she came to visit Msia where she stayed at our house. We did not stop telling about God's love thru Christ and on Dec 23, she accepted Jesus as her personal Lord & Saviour. That was my mom's best birthday gift in 51years! My sis was blessed with the opportunity to guide her in devotion the first few days of her new journey with God.
She went back blessed & passionate for God. We kept in contact via email.
Just 2days ago, I met her again.
She was just beaming! Never forsaking God, but faithfully reading the bible, doing church services in Thai-English translation, offering collection, Christmas celebration etc & praying in faith.
As she dedicates her life to God, God has not stopped blessing her: new job with a good salary in a home deco store, car petrol paid for, favourtism of her employer & her favourite- Sundays off to attend church! She now enjoys her work as she can use some of her creativity.
PASTOR CHANWIT
Known to my parents as he was pastoring the church my parents were attending while my dad was working in Phuket. A man who truly loves God & people, he never fails to give up admist hardship, opposition & self-sacrifice. The church he's now pastoring has moved to a bigger location with more brothers & sisters.
Yesterday, Monday, normally off-days for pastors, we went to visit him in the church in the morning; Only to find out from his wife that he has left to Pattani with 4 others to pray for the people there. As we would know, violence is prevalent there with the rising of religious extremist & political unrest in Southern Thailand. Truly bold & faithful in God.
When I was in Phuket last year, he's church was in a small shoplot. Today, he acquired a piece of land not far from town where he built a sanctuary behind his house. The sitting capacity is easily 200people. One thing about some churches here in Phuket: they are practically open everyday...anyone can just walk in....maybe because the pastor's house or someone's house is within the same area.
to be continued...
